and all that fou-fou...

Today I did a little bathroom clean up and noticed that I seem to have a little collection growing of "fou-fou".
There's Prada, Origins, Marc Jacobs, Clinique (that's from 2002), Lilly Pulitzer, Stella, 2 kinds of Grace, and another Marc Jacobs...
As I went through the catalogue of smells, some of which I haven't worn for a while, I felt like it was kind of like a trip in the hot tub time machine.  (please note I haven't actually seen this movie.)
The Origins I bought 2 years ago...it reminds of a favorite co worker who wears it.  She smells nice.
The Marc Jacobs with the square black top reminds me of a trip Geoff and I took to Chicago in 2004. I brought my first bottle of it at Bloomingdales and that's also the smell I wore on our wedding day.  The two small bottles in the front with the pink and blue labels I bought in NYC on a trip with the GSL Youth Group in 2008.  The dark purple tube is Stella and is my purse smell...I always have a tube of it with me...I'm discovering that they're all over the house and in my car... it smells like heaven in a jar.  The Clinique is a smell it seems like EVERY girl has at some point.  I remember the first bottle of Happy....circa 1996 my mother bought it for me in  Dillard's in Wichita, Kansas. I think that empty bottle is still in my dresser at my parent's house. The bottle of Lilly Pulitzer is new, I bought it in NYC a couple weeks ago.  It's very fresh smelling.  They jury's still out on LP. The bottle of Marc Jacobs on the far right with the white flower is just lovely. I bought the first bottle of it when we moved to Memphis.  It actually reminds me of Easter the first year we lived in Memphis when I worked at Idlewild Pres.

Isn't funny how smells take you back?...and speaking of smells....guess what's for dinner....

Mushrooms and shrimp with garlic and butter, the prelude to a lovely risotto dish that Geoff is whipping up in the kitchen.  Thank you very much Balthazar NYC.  We love you dearly.
