Light at the end of the tunnel

I wouldn't normally say this...but...THANK HEAVENS THE HOLIDAY SEASON IS OVER!!!!! Since the holidays are so frequently full or merriment in the way of delicious food and libations, it made it particularly difficult for me to stay with my meal plan.  Good gracious, was it ever difficult.  As I shared last post about the holiday season, I did managed to lose some weight while home in Kansas.
This past Friday marked the end of "Week 19"...another weigh in and new food. I lost a little over 2 pounds this week putting me back on target with my overall goal.

I have approximately 6-9 weeks left depending on when my final blood work tests are scheduled for. Hopefully it will be closer to 9 weeks!

As per archiving the experience, here are 2 more photos for the sake of study!

This is a blog that I frequent. Today she shared a post on mixing prints in the home as she was featured on a Utah area television show. Check it out as she shares some interesting pairings as well as some great links to (highly desirable) fabric.

My personal gift shop.

Well I suppose that it is time to take down the Christmas decorations.  They have now been up for 6 weeks.  Jesus was born, the 3 wise guys have found him in the manger, and now it is time to move on in the new light of the year.

In addition to my liturgical sentiment, my dining table currently  looks like a "gift shop".  Before I started teaching lessons today I started gathering up all the decor in the living and sun rooms to better organize for the process of packing up.  I said that it looked like a gift shop because one of my students came in today and said, "Mrs, Ward...you're table looks like a gift shop!"  I didn't know whether to hug him for saying something so cute or just laugh a hardy chuckle.

Either way...it's a happy and merry way to start the new year!

Super Cool Factor

This gal's cool isn't she. I wonder what the rest of this room looks like? I'll bet she has a contagious case of the "funs".  Happy hump day!

Warby Parker

I've been on the hunt for some new eye glasses.  I have had the same pair for a little over (social gaps) 5 years! I'd say that's getting your money's worth...wouldn't you?

Tonight while searching on line I found an extra cool company called Warby Parker.  They are the eyeglass equivalent of TOMS.  You buy a pair, they give a pair.  And here's the big news, their frames are totally affordable!  You can buy a complete pair, Rx lenses and all for less than 100 bucks! (Cha-ching!) That's right, money saved is money earned!

The added bonus to the previous big news is that you get to check them out like a library book, so yes that means for free, to see if you like them before you commit to buying them.  You can check out as many as 5 pairs of frames to try on in the comfort of your own home before you select a pair to be Rx filled.

I didn't pick 5 pairs, I only selected 3 pairs for my in home trial.  Here's what I picked out...

They're set to arrive (all free of charge, shipping both ways and all) in 5 business days...I'm pulling for the blue pair, but we'll see what happens.  The things I like usually look way cooler in photo than in real life.

So look for a post in "5 business days" to check 'em out.  Doesn't a gal always need some feedback on something like this?

Resolutions A.K.A. Goals

My new year's resolution began in September when I started the medical study at University of Tennessee/Methodist Hospital.  The study is 6 months...the other 6 months will be dedicated to my own study and reflection from the 6 months spent with medical professionals.
I am now reaching the 4 month mark, leaving me with only 2 more months with the dream team.
My goal during this 6 month period was to lose 50 pounds.  With the 1 year goal to lose 100 pounds. Yes that sounds ridiculous, but let me tell ya...I've got it to lose! Come to think of it, I'd actually settle for 75 pounds.  So either way, all of that sounds like a good option.

Now that the holiday season is behind us for another year, I feel as though I will be able to get back on track towards losing a few pounds per week.  During this holiday season I've been doing good to just not back track into the dreadful darkness that I'd never be able to recover from. Moving on.

Tomorrow morning, January 3 I go in for my post holiday weigh in.  At that point it is off to the races to finish this "tour" strong.

Friday will mark the end of week 19...8 weeks to go!

4 minutes left in 2010

As I watch the clock tick down to 2011, I am thankful for many blessings and joys through the year, but I am also ready to see (what was the WORST year of my short existence) it go.  Chalk it up to a mixed bag.

HAPPY 2k11 ... And many more!

New Internet Friends

Totally love what these two girls are doing.  Their blog/web page/webisodes are so much fun.  Naturally, I'm totally envious of their wardrobe.  Who wouldn't love to have their "wardrobe donated from Kate Spade New York"?  Check out The Girls With Glasses, they're bound to bring a smile to your face and a glitter to your eye.

End of Week 18

Obvious things:

1. Today is New Year's Eve Day!  Happy New Year "y'all"
2. We have been at my parent's house since Monday.
3. I have tried my darndest to follow my menu, and for a few very small exceptions (due to regional cuisine) I have stayed true to my food.
4. Tonight, since it is NYE we are having a FEAST worthy of an episode of Ina Garten or Julia Child.

Additionally:
I weighed myself before we left Memphis on Monday and I have not had access to scales since we left.  It is killing me.  I have been able to keep micro-track of my progress as the week goes along since the beginning of the study.  This week...not so much.

We will depart E-town on Saturday mid day and I know that upon our arrival in Memphis I will be eager to high jump the stairs to our master bathroom to check my "progress" during this holiday week.

I last went to the hospital Thursday, December 23rd to pick up food and weigh in.  When I went in, I picked up enough food for 11 days.  (I was totally amazed just how much food that is, as I had to haul it all out to my car.) So as my stash is dwindeling I'm looking forward to seeing how I've done during what is one of the toughest holiday weeks for food consumption of the year.

You say Goodbye, I say Hello!

New Year's Eve is a matter of hours away.  It is time to have good wishes for the past and say hello to the future. While in the process of doing this...I'm saying hello to a few NEW desires...and as per usual shoes are included in this list.

Say HELLO to these little puppies!

Yes, these are the smallest blog photos ever, you can go  here .
I first saw these shoes as suggested by the ever "stylish girls with glasses".

And on that note...it's time to order the refils.  Whoops, I guess that's something I should have done before January 2011 actually got here.
