The covered window face out to the 2 car garaged. That's why we slapped a roman shade on it. When we have the garage door open we do open the shade as well because we can see out through the garage. Weird, huh? Since the house is 1 story, skylights are an option - We have several of them in other parts of the house, and perhaps for this precise reason. The window faces east. I think your cabine...I love the inspiration photo! I think your cabinets are beautiful and that the light situation is the most important thing to address to achieve that look.
